Procedure
How the appointment actually runs.
- 1. Setting Up
Windows open, towels down, and everything ready for a long service.
- 2. Applying the Cream
X-Tenso straightener cream is worked through in fine sections and left for its time.
- 3. Rinse & Iron
Rinsed thoroughly, then ironed section by section to set the hair straight.
- 4. Neutralising
A neutraliser locks the new shape in, then a final rinse and blow-dry.

It does not wash out — new growth shows at the roots after about six months and needs a touch-up.
Avoid This
- Washing your hair for three days, while the treatment sets
- Ties, clips or tucking hair behind your ears for those three days
- Sulphate shampoo afterwards, which strips the treatment out
- Swimming pools and seawater in the first week
Please Note
- Good ventilation is needed — windows open, and a fan if you have one. These treatments release fumes when heated, and a home is not a salon with extraction
- This is permanent — it changes the hair's structure and cannot be reversed, only grown out
- Not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding — check with your doctor first
- If your hair was coloured recently, leave one to two weeks before this treatment, and never book both for the same day
- Tell your stylist about any previous smoothing, rebonding or keratin, and about scalp sensitivity, when you book
- Long or thick hair takes longer than the booked time suggests
Aftercare Tips
- Sulphate-free shampoo from here on — ordinary shampoo strips it out.
- Wash two or three times a week rather than daily.
- A weekly mask keeps the ends in good condition.

FAQs
Is this permanent?
Yes. It changes the hair's internal structure, so it does not wash out — it grows out.
How is it different from keratin?
Keratin coats the hair and fades gradually. Rebonding restructures it, and cannot be undone.
When will I need it again?
Around six months, when regrowth at the roots starts to show against the straightened lengths.
Can I colour my hair too?
Not the same day. Leave one to two weeks between colour and this treatment.
Is it safe in pregnancy?
Most doctors advise waiting. Check with yours before booking.
